Firefly

2024

Firefly is a body of work looking into 'flying the nest' and moving away for University, leaving my family behind. Within these photographs of migrating birds and nature I have explored aspects of life that are unable to be seen. Through the imagery I explored my feelings of loneliness as well as my connection to the nest. By creating these photographs, I looked inwards at what home means and how I can become more comfortable with living away from my loved ones, intertwining nostalgic archival pieces. This installation allows people to place themselves into a landscape of the universal complexities around moving away from home.​
